To take an intermediate level course, you much provide proof of at least three three standard levels (including unarmed) at merit or above, examined by an Equity recognised exam board.

Taught by an Equity Fight Director, and apprentice teachers from the ACTT, this three-day intensive training course is designed with actors and performers in mind; you will learn and develop your ability to learn and perform combat and violent actions safely and effectively.

The Axe is a lethal, intuitive and widely available option, present for much of human history. Axes have taken many forms to mirror their many functions. While the weapon certainly fits a strong & brutal fighter, the potential finesse and versatility of its use can be surprising! For this course we will be using the widely applicable single-handed hatchet style axe.

Examined by ACTT; all qualifications earned are Spotlight accredited.

We also have a guest instructor last thing on the 20th - Ross Burton will be giving a workshop on functional staff spinning and juggling! This will all be looped back in with the fighting context, and will give an unparalleled feel for, and control of, the weapon. While aimed at the staff weapon used by the standard level, many of these techniques can be employed with an axe - getting the head of the weapon to speed quickly and unpredictably makes a good axe fighter into a great one!

Discounts are available at checkout for Sword & Scoundrel members, ACTT members, and Equity members
